Hades Costume DIY

Although it’s not as professional looking like a cosplay outfit I’m extremely proud of how this costume came out. Most of the items I found on Amazon or my local craft store for relatively cheap. It’s something I can use again in the future if I wanted to.

What You’ll Need:

• Black Maxi Dress

• Hot Glue

• Blue Fabric

• Scissors

• Ruler

• Pen

• Fabric Glue

• Rubber band

• Tulle (Blue and Gray)

• Hades Brooch (from previous DIY)

1. Using your ruler draw several squares 2X2 inches.

1. Carefully, cut out the squares using your scissors

1. Then cut the squares in half diagonally so you are left with triangles

1. Once you have all of your triangles cut out lay them on the collar of your dress or top. Lay the triangles in an alternating pattern. It’s best if the flat end is facing the seam with the triangle pointing downwards.

1. Glue the triangles carefully with fabric glue all the way around the collar.

Once the glue has dried repeat the process on the tops of each sleeve.

1. Once the fabric has completely dried cut long strips of tulle. (I cut 8 60inch pieces of gray tulle and 4 60in of blue tulle)

1. Separating the tulle into two groups. Add an even amount of blue and gray to each bundle and tie it in a knot on the top.

1. Then tie the two groups together

1. Next, using hot glue or fabric glue, glue the knot on the right shoulder. (Be sure to keep on group in the front, and the other should go over the shoulder on the backside.

1. After glue has dried gather the tulle and swoop it across the front towards the left hip. Do the same with the backside and gather them together with a rubber band. It should look like a sash. To keep it in place I hot glued to tulle onto the side of the dress right above the rubber band.

1. Near the tulle knot on the top right shoulder hot glue the skull brooch carefully onto the tulle.

1. Once it dries your done! You can add extra details if you want like I did. I added a pin of Hades Mortal Potion from FanFlaire to give it a bit more of the evil Underworld feels to this God!
