As summer slowly turned into fall there is also a shift in these Disney Boxes as well. It was exteremly busy these last few months and decided to combine September and October boxes together. There were so many great things in these boxes. They really helped me get in the fall and Halloween spirit. This post is coming very late due to the fact I just got both of my October boxes very late this month just 1-2 days before Halloween and needed some time to fully appreciate them before writing this review.

1. Mickey Monthly
September:

Inside the box: Mickey Mouse Journal, Mickey Rice Krispy Treat, Mickey Mouse Jack O’Lantern
Rating: 10/10
Thoughts: I have never been super into Halloween, but for some reason this year I totally into it. When I opened the box the normal white strings and Mickey confetti were replaced with black strings and Jack O’Lantern and bat confetti. This really got me in the mood for the upcoming spooky holiday. The first thing inside the box was a Mickey Mouse Journal. What I like about this journal is it looks like a photo book. The cover is very thick and bounded in a faux leather cover. It’s such great quality and I’m really excited to start using it for blogging ideas and film review notes. You can’t have a box from Mickey Monthly without some kind of snack, and this months snack was another Mickey Mouse Rice Krispy treat. The treat is very Halloween with orange, black, purple, and white sprinkles to really help give me a break from all the candy! The final thing in this box could have been the only thing in in the box and I would still probably give the box a 10/10 just for this item alone. This item is a huge staple at the Disney Parks during Halloween time. The Mickey Mouse Jack O’Lantern is a huge part of Disney Halloween and lives at the top of Main Street; so getting a mini version it is an awesome way to bring Disney Halloween magic into my house. If there was anything I would buy at the parks during this time a year the Mickey O’Lantern would be the first thing I would pick up. Plus the nice thing about this box is it’s the September box. Which means I could potentially get more Halloween stuff next month in my October box (or start getting Christmas stuff-which I’m fine with as well).
October:

Inside the box: Mickey Mouse Tumbler, Chocolate Bar, Haunted Mansion Socks
Rating: 7/10
Thoughts: As much as I have enjoyed getting these boxes over the last year I have decided that this will be my last box from Mickey Monthly. For me personally I haven’t been super impressed with the box the majority of the time. This box has been very hit or miss for me, and I don’t think the value for what I receive in the box is worth the money I pay for it. That being said this box was nice box to get from this company. The first thing inside was the Mickey Mouse Tumbler, and it is a nice porcelain (mug like) material. The colors on it are very bright and attention-grabbing making Mickey pop! The next thing in the box was a Disney Parks candy bar. The thing I liked most about this box was food items being mixed in, however, for this box the food item was lacking for me. The chocolate itself was very good, but the actual bar was pretty small in size. It was about half the size of a normal Hersey’s bar you would get at the grocery store. With this being the October box, and the month Halloween is celebrated in I expected a larger size or maybe multiple ones. The last thing in this box was a pair of Haunted Mansion sock! These socks are awesome because they are very Halloween-y and they don’t scream Disney, which makes them perfect to wear all month of October. When non-Disney fans see them these sock may just seem like some special Halloween socks, but when Disney fans get a look at them they will know exactly where they are from. The prints of these socks are also very fun because they match the wallpaper inside of the spooky ride! All and all I have enjoyed receiving these boxes, and bringing a little bit of Disney magic into my home every month. Who knows maybe in the future I will return to this subscription, but for now I’m going to take a bit of a break.

2. Mickey’s Mystery Box
September:

Inside the Box: Minnie Mouse Mug, Vera Bradley Mickey Lanyard, Stitch Pin, Mickey Sticker, Bambi and Flower Christmas Ornament
Rating: 10/10
Thoughts: This box does not disappoint! I always get very excited when Mickey’s Mystery Box arrives on my doorstep every month. There is always so much stuff in this box, which makes it worth the value of what you pay for it. The first thing in the box was a very cute Minnie Mouse mug. I’ve slowly and unintentional have started to become a Disney mug collector. What I like about this mug is Minnie is a cute pencil drawn version. It’s very simple, and the white background really makes Minnie’s outfit and the shapes around her really stand out. The next thing in the box that I was the most excited for was the Vera Bradley Mickey lanyard. Literally, two days before this box came I was telling one of my co-workers I really needed a new lanyard for my car keys, because the one I had was old, gross, and starting to wear out. So when I saw this awesome Vera Bradley lanyard in the box I was super pumped. It was almost like the creators of this box were reading my mind! The colors are bright and the design is really fun. Plus, I love that it’s not obvious Disney, and the only thing Disney on it is the Mickey shaped key ring. The next thing in the box was a Stitch pin. This pin is very Experiment 626 detailed. It’s not your basic simple blue Stitch pin. There is so much detail in this pin, and its very good quality. I really like that it’s gold and silver almost like a chaser pin you’d get in a mystery pin box. I loved the Bambi and Flower Christmas ornaments inside this box. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I’m always looking at all the different Disney ornaments online. So to get not one but to ornaments in this box made me super happy. Bambi and Flower are both super cute, and what I like most about them is they are plushy instead of glass. Most of my Disney ornaments are very breakable, so to have some that I don’t have to be super careful with makes me a little less nervous about them breaking if they happen to get knocked off the tree. The only thing is I wish I had received Thumper as well, but I’m still happy I got two for one!
October:

Inside the box: Thumper Plushy, Cinderella’s Castle Mug, Gil and Darla tsum tsum, Stitch fruit infuser tumbler, Little Mermaid Socks, Jack Skellington candle holder.
Rating: 10/10
Thoughts: I received this box much later than I usually do this month because of some technical difficulties the company had with their payment system canceling everyone’s boxes. However, I was able to re-order my box and as a ‘Thank You’ the company gave everyone who re-subscribed a box size up from their original box size. Now, I usually receive their ‘Fairest of Them All’ box, which is the medium size box, and they sent me their largest box, ‘Fantasmic!’ The amount of stuff inside this box is amazing! There were some many things inside so when I opened it, it seemed like I was pulling stuff out of Mary Poppins’ bag because it was never ending. Not only was there a ton of items in this bag, but also the qualities of these items are awesome. The first thing I pulled out was a Thumper plushy. What I love most about this subscription is you tell them what character and movies you like and they will be sure to put those in there for you, so you are more likely to get things you really want. Because Bambi is on of the movies I put on my list I’ve been getting quite a bit of Bambi merch lately. Growing up I was more into the animal movies than the Princess movies; so getting this adorable bunny makes me feel like a kid again going into my local Disney Store for a new plushy. The next thing inside the box was something I have seen a ton of people on YouTube receive, and something I have wanted for a while. The Cinderella’s Castle Mug is the most beautiful mug I have ever seen. I was completely shocked and super excited when I opened my box and found that inside. Mickey’s Mystery Box is known for sending a mug almost every month, and this month was honestly the best one I have ever received. I’m thrilled to have this because it’s so detailed, but also because the quality is better than any other mug I’ve ever owned. Another thing this subscription box sends almost monthly are tsum tsums. Know I have quite a bit of stuff on my preference list and the amount of tsum tsums out there are endless, but it’s still amazing to me that I have yet to receive a duplicate. Every month they seem to theme the tsum tsums they send you so you receive two or more from the same movie. This month’s theme was Finding Nemo, and inside the box were Gil and Darla. I’m not going to lie it took me a few second to realize it was Gil when I first was the tsum tsum of him, but once I saw the scar I knew exactly who it was. It also helped that Darla was also included. Honestly, I think the Darla tsum tsum is the best one I have ever received. She looks hilariously cute with her braces taking up most of her face! I love her! The next thing inside this endless box was a Stitch Tumbler. The best thing about this tumbler is it has the option to use it as a fruit infuser, and it has a straw! I am a big water drinker, but it’s hard for me to drink a lot out of a glass or plan water battle. For some reason I drink twice as much water in a day if I have a straw. I don’t know why I just do. Plus with this having an infuser attachment to this I can spice up my boring water and give it a bit of a fruity taste by adding some lemons, strawberries, or oranges to it! Socks seemed to be a bit of a theme this month. Maybe because of the colder fall weather showing up or because socks are awesome! This box held Little Mermaid themed socks covered in seashells. Just like the Haunted Mansion socks I got in my Mickey Monthly box these sock don’t scream Disney, but still give me a way to add some Disney flare to my outfit without anyone knowing. The last thing in this box was probably my favorite thing I have received in any of my boxes ever! This Jack Skellington is awesome and the perfect Halloween decoration! I was so happy when I received this because I loved the Mickey Mouse pumpkin one I received in my September box from Mickey Monthly, but this one is perfect to keep up all the way through Christmas (since the Nightmare Before Christmas can be viewed as both a Halloween and a Christmas movie). This box was so impressive it helped me decide on ordering the Fantasmic! box as my normal box from now one. I can’t wait to see what I receive in my November box!
